Farming
Chargeurs - Wool Farms
, Argentina
From 2021-2024 we've sourced our wool from 5 Merino Wool farms in Argentina, carefully selected in collaboration with our Italian Mill, Tollegno, and their sourcing and certification partner Chargeurs. All wool is RWS and Nativa™ certified, which ensures the highest standard of animal husbandry and land management, breeding and farming in harmony with the local ecosystems. All farms are mulesing free. "El Triunfo" Puerto Deseado, Santa Cruz, Argentina El Triunfo was established by a Spanish immigrant family in 1904 and has since been kept in the family, with the ownership and management passing down three generations. Currently run by Eduardo Ribaya and his wife, the two farms are more than a business, but an essential part of their history and heritage, managed with a deep passion for nature and animals. The farm is operated by the family and one employee, who received 715 USD per month plus food and housing. “La Chaira” Santa Cruz, Argentina Run by Aljandro Tirachini, the third generation of sheep breeders in his family since 1909, La Chaira houses over 5000 sheep in the Patagonia area of Santa Cruz. Since the 1990's the family has increased investment in responsible practices to create an even better and more competitve product. Workers and management are incentivized by training, talks, generous holidays and more, creating a strong commitment to the farm and bond between both teams and the environment in which they operate. "La Maciega" Chubut, Argentina La Maciega's history dates back to 1929 when it was acquired by owners of Germen descent. SInce then it has been passed on and acquired by different individuals, with some of the proceeds going to fund the contruction of a local hospital. For the past 20 years it's been in the ownership and management of Roberto Valle who has continuously invested in the development of the farm. Today it employs 8 people with a salary of 530-655 USD/m plus housing. For every month of work, the employees are off one full week. "La Marina" & "Ernestina" Valdés Peninsula, Chubut, Argentina Run by father and Son, Luis & Juan Copello, La Ernestina and Marina farms were founded four generations earlier in 1905 when the state auctioned off the land to european immigrants. Located in some of the most remote, spectacular and protected land on earth, the whole peninsula is a UNESCO World Heritage and home of vast animal life and biodevirsity Specifically, La Ernestina farm, has some of the highest concentration of marine and bird life on the whole peninsula, including orcas and sea lions. The sheep graze freely on 15,000 hectares of land, side-by-side with the wildlife. Apart from the farm, mr Copello Sr has since 2000 become increasingly invested in nature preservation, working specifically with Orcas. "Cullen Farm", Tierra del Fuego, Argentina Located in the southern most province of Argentina, the Patagonian region of Tierra del Fuego, the Cullen farm carries over a century of tradition in fine wool farming in characteristically extreme climate. The estate demonstrates how tradition can coexist with innovation and progress. Focusing not only on the development of the output of their business, Estancia Cullen acknowledge the need for and work actively with responsible environmental management, animal welfare, human capital development and investment in their community to foster a financially and environmentally sustainable business for the long term.

Care instructions

Do not tumble dry

Professional dry clean
Machine wash delicate
Detailed care instructions
- In principle, avoid washing wool as much as possible. Unlike cotton and synthetic fabrics, pure merino wool is not prone to retain odors and can stay fresh without wash. Just air it out occasionally and it will be good as new.
- If washing is needed, use detergent for delicates.
- Air dry flat on towel. Remove as many folds or creases as possible. If needed carefully stretch it back to its original shape before drying, otherwise wearing will naturally remove creases and stretch the garment back to original dimensions.
- If ironing is necessary, turn the sweater inside out and spray the garment with a little water before applying the iron to the garment surface gently. This will make crease removal easier.
- We recommend you to not use fabric softener because they coat the wool fibers and reduce the fibers ability to naturally manage moisture and regulate your body temperature.
- Don't be alarmed if your sweater starts to pill. Pilling is the natural formation of fuzzy balls on the surface of your wool sweater, which can occur in any parts of your wool sweater. It mostly appears on sleeves, armpits and the sides of the garment. It can easily be removed with a wool comb, carefully running down the garment without pressing down to hard. We can't guarantee that it won't occur but to reduce the risk of pilling, always turn our sweater inside out when washing and be careful while using it so you don't rub it on structured surfaces.
- Some wool qualities can be sensitive against use of a dust roll which can make the short fibers to come up on the surface and make pills on the garment. Use a soft wool brush to remove dust and to place the wool fibres in line again.
- Store your sweater folded in your wardrobe, hanging it will cause stretching of fibers which can affect the length of the garment. Make sure that it is stored in a dry and cool place and avoid direct sunlight.
- Store your wool garments together with cedar balls or other moth protecting material to prevent it from clothing moths.
- Allow 1-2 days between wearing your merino sweater. This allows wrinkles to dissipate and the elasticity of the fibers to recover.
How to take care of wool
Most of us have probably ruined a sweater or two in our garment care career and caring for wool has a bad rep for being a hassle. We respectfully disagree. Wool care is misunderstood. In general, wool garments require much less care, the garment practically takes care of itself because of the inherent qualities of wool. Sure, if you do need to wash the whole piece, it needs some extra attention, but that’s exactly what we’ll guide you through in this section - there’s nothing to fear.
Garment take back and resale
To extend the life of our product, we take back any unwanted Asket garments - no matter their condition or age. In exchange, you'll receive a reward voucher based on the type(s) of garments you return. Your sent in garments will be handled for resale at our Bondegatan Restore location.
