Fabric Supplier
Besnate, Italy Est. 1945-12-31
TBM Group is a family-run textile manufacturer based in Besnate, in the province of Varese, part of the historic textile belt north of Milan.
Bruno Marcora founded TBM in 1946 as a small contract weaving mill. Over the following decades, he and his son Franco brought one manufacturing step after another under their own roof, building one of Italy’s most renowned fabric houses and an admirable supply chain that preserves Italian craftsmanship.
Today TBM is one of the last Italian mills able to cover the whole process in-house, across four mills of its own: SGL in the south for spinning, Tessitura di Ginosa for weaving, the Besnate headquarters for development and specialty weaving, and Varano Borghi for dyeing and finishing.
For us, TBM weave, dye and finish the fabric for our Chinos, Shorts, Overshirts and Flannel Shirts across their mills in Italy.

Finishing
Varano Borghi, Italy Est. 1947-01-01
Varano Borghi is TBM Group’s dyeing and finishing mill, on the shore of Lake Comabbio in the province of Varese. The site itself was no accident, the lake’s water, piped straight into the dyehouse, was said to carry a particular algae that gave the fabrics a special touch.
The mill was founded in the early 1800s as the cotton mill of Pasquale Borghi & Sons, and is the oldest textile company still operating in Italy. At its height it employed more than 2,000 people.
TBM bought the mill in 1985 and completely rebuilt and equipped it to produce every kind of cotton and linen fabric.

Weaving
Besnate, Italy Est. 1945-12-31
TBM Besnate is the headquarters and original mill of TBM Group, in Besnate, a town north of Milan that was once built almost entirely around weaving.
Today it is the group’s development centre and also manages smaller production runs. Every collection across TBM’s six fabric brands is designed here, by a team of textile engineers and designers who work right beside the looms. The mill runs fully electronic, high-speed looms and the latest warping machines, and twists its own fancy yarns. With a deep yarn stock on site, new weaves can go from idea to finished sample without leaving the building.

Care instructions

Cotton is the most used natural fabric worldwide. There are many types of cotton fabrics available and many uses for it. To be safe, we suggest you have a look at the care instructions for the specific item before washing. As a natural fiber, cotton is prone to shrinkage - the looser/more elastic the knit, the more potential shrinkage. At Asket we prewash all our clothing to eliminate shrinkage, but this is not always the case for cotton clothing. This is a general guide of how to care for cotton clothes, helping you make your garments look better and last longer.
To extend the life of our product, we take back any unwanted Asket garments - no matter their condition or age. In exchange, you'll receive a reward voucher based on the type(s) of garments you return. Your sent in garments will be handled for resale at our Bondegatan Restore location.
