We spent time with some of the people who make Stockholm feel like home. New conversations launching on Instagram throughout June and July.
Tilde Schweizer is a trombonist, composer and big band leader. Born and raised in a village of 40 people in rural Sweden, she has called Stockholm home for many years – even though she's on the road most of the time.
Victor Langer is an art and perfumery historian, specializing in scent as an artistic expression. On a warm and rainy morning in Vitabergsparken, we asked him to share his reflections on the contrasting smells of summer.
“I believe in the importance of carrying home with you, when travelling. [...] Just to assure myself that it’s still there.”
— Tilde
“To me, summer is very dualistic. On the one hand, it is a time of rest and enjoyment. On the other hand, it can be a time of boredom and loneliness. Summer is also dualistic when it comes to scent.”
— Victor
Designer and entrepreneur Petrus Palmér started furniture company Hem in 2016. He invited us to his mesmerizing home – a brutalist concrete row house built in the 1960s.
Elinor Nystedt is a creative director and brand strategist. As an experienced creative, she reflects on the Stockholm creative landscape and industry.
Joel Åhlin started restaurant Agrikultur in 2015 with fellow chef Filip Fastén – three years later they were awarded a Michelin star. Four years ago, they chose to close the restaurant – and Joel is on to new ventures as an entrepreneur within the food industry. We talked to him about his relationship with Swedish and Nordic cuisine.
Asket co-founder August Bard Bringéus finds room for his growing family in Kungsholmen, Stockholm. We visited him surrounded by kids and cats, and asked him to reflect on what home means for him.
“My wife and I have moved three times within a 500-meter radius. And I don't imagine us leaving.”
