Supima Cotton

SUPIMA® cotton is a natural, biodegradable fiber, recyclable both mechanically and chemically. Cultivated exclusively in the American West and Southwest by long-standing family farms, SUPIMA® is defined by its extra-long staple fibers—up to 35% longer than conventional cotton—producing smoother, stronger yarns with lasting softness, deeper color retention and improved durability.

As a xerophyte, the SUPIMA® plant is adapted to thrive in dry climates and produce fiber with comparatively low water requirements. Through the U.S. Cotton Trust Protocol, growers adopt precision irrigation, integrated nutrient and pest-management practices, and soil-health measures such as no-till and cover cropping. These efforts have contributed to measurable improvements in water-use efficiency, soil conservation and reduced energy and greenhouse-gas emissions.

Every bale of SUPIMA® cotton is classed and verified. Through the AQRe™ program, fibers are forensically tested and digitally tracked to ensure authentic SUPIMA® from point of origin to point of purchase, supported by a unique origin fingerprint tied to the terroir of the American Southwest.

With its rare extra-long staple fibers, SUPIMA® cotton enables exceptionally fine, resilient and long-lasting lightweight fabrics—ideal for garments where softness, drape and durability are essential. For our 2026 Lightweight T-Shirt update, we source certified SUPIMA® cotton from California. While farm-level traceability is not yet possible, the AQRe™ system ensures verified provenance across each production batch.
