Organic cotton

Cotton is a natural and biodegradeable fiber that can be both mechanically and chemically recycled into new fibers. Cotton demands large areas of arable land and requires large quantities of water for irrigation, often in areas where water is scarce. Organic cotton has the benefit of being cultivated without the use of insecticides and pesticides. This reduces workers' exposure to toxins and the release of harmful substances to land and waterways.

We source all our cotton yarns and fabrics from 100% GOTS certified organic cotton, predominantly from farms in the USA, Turkey, Egypt and India. As opposed to our Merino wool, we're not currently able to trace our cotton to the farms, but to the regions that contribute to the cotton in each garment production batch. All our cotton yarns and fabrics are OEKOTEX Standard 100 certified, ensuring that no harmful substances are present in the final textile.

For the largest part, we use long or extra-long staple cotton, allowing for the creation of smoother and stronger yarns, especially important when creating fine fabrics with high requirements on durability.
