Regenerative Merino Wool

Merino wool is a naturally produced, renewable and biodegradeable fiber that can be mechanically recycled into new fibers. Merino sheep live in challenging climate environments, such as Argentina, Uruguay and Australia with hot summers and cold winters. As a result, the sheep's wool has developed to be naturally temperature regulating, moisture wicking and even odor neutralising. These qualities make wool a highly desirable material. The wool is obtained by shearing, cutting the sheep's wool, typically once per year. Merino wool comes from a specific breed of sheep with a finer fleece, with longer staples and lower micronage (the diameter of the wool fiber), allowing for the creation of smoother, softer and stronger yarns, ideal for fine knits.

We source Merino wool from regenerative farms, that is 100% traceable, Mulesing-free, RWS (Responsible Wool Standard) and NATIVA™ certified. In 2024 we committed to NATIVA Regen, a regenerative agriculture program that aims to adress the problems of industrial scale merino wool farming by healing soils, preserving biodiversity, protecting animal welfare and supporting farmers and local communities by improving their livelihoods.

We source merino wool for our finer knits and accessories, where we want a smooth handle and lustre in the final knit.
