Inspired by the hard-wearing Gansey sweaters worn by British fishermen, the Heavy Wool Sweater is our contemporary take on a jumper that will weather any storm. We worked with an Italian mill, that has over a century experience in high-end yarn, to create a chunky knit from 100% recycled wool. Knitted from a 3-ply yarn into thick rib, with a straight fit and raglan shoulder, this sweater beautifully balances simplicity with a cosy ruggedness. Hemingway pipe optional.

With a permanent collection and direct-to-you sales, we don't have wholesale markups, deadstock, sales or discounts. The traditional retail price shows what we'd have to charge if we sold our garments through multi-brand stores (wholesale) - 6x the landed cost. Instead, our markup is between 2.5-4.5x landed cost depending on product and country characteristics. It covers the cost of our garments and a lot more: VAT, cost of sales (shipping, warehousing, payment, web systems etc.), marketing, admin (salaries, rent, product development etc.) and financial costs, while maintaining a slim profit to keep investing in our mission.

Made From Waste, Without the Waste

Made from 100% recycled wool, the sweater is knitted from a yarn that is made from pre-consumption wool which is the fiber wastage that comes from the spinning mill. The waste is then sorted by quality and color and spun back into new yarns in a process called mechanical dyeing - requiring zero water and zero chemicals.
