Design philosophy

With a strictly limited range of timeless essentials, our design philosophy is disciplined. Our first principle is longevity — aesthetic, physical, and functional.

Aesthetic longevity, focusing solely on wardrobe archetypes designed for frequent and intense use, in a stringent, muted color palette. Physical longevity, working exclusively with natural fibers and artisanal qualities that age well, are biodegradable, and recyclable. Functional longevity, creating designs and silhouettes that honor the history of garments while remaining unobtrusive and true to both form and function.

Each piece is a quiet statement in its own right, but our collection is a canvas. You wear our garments — they don’t wear you.

Material Integrity: Recycled Wool

Natural fibers come with beautiful properties — and material integrity. Sourcing recycled wool for our overshirts and coats, every batch varies slightly in color due to the manual sorting and mechanical recycling process.

Archetypical Design: The T-Shirt

The epitome of aesthetic durability, our plain white T-shirt is made from a custom, compact organic cotton jersey with our signature bound neckline. It's durable, hard-working, and easy to care for.

Functional Relevance: Raw Denim

Our raw denim pays homage to the original model: Made from ring-spun heritage Japanese denim, with a characteristically uneven surface it will acquire a unique patina over time. But we refrain from traditional metal rivets in favor of bartacks — equally durable, but less visually and physically intrusive.
