The black denim jeans begins and ends with the fabric. We partnered with a Turkey-based mill that combines over a century of experience with trailblazing innovation, and, as a result, was the first ever denim factory to be awarded the Nordic Swan and EU Ecolabel. But make no mistake, this is no lightweight jean - it truly pays hommage to its the workwear origins. Spun from 100% organic cotton fibers, the yarn is woven to a sturdy 13oz 3/1 right hand twill for that characteristic denim surface. Made from the same yarn, the two colorways are however woven and dyed differently to achieve the right outcome. The Stay Black is custom developed for optimal color fastness and is - at its base - a white ecru weave that undergoes a reactive dying process for better bonding. Our Grey Wash fabric on the otherhand is woven with the traditional white weft and black warp yarn, creating the classic white-spotted denim fabric which is then overdyed. Both fabrics are then transported to our Italian denim sewing and washing facilities, famous for our Raw and Washed Blue Denim, where they're expertly tailored and trimmed. The Stay Black receives only a subtle rinse wash to soften the rigid raw fabric, the Grey Wash undergoes a stone bleach process to let the undyed weft surface and get that timeless, no-frills look.
