First established in 1846, as a woolen mill, a stone cast away from the Rolava river, which initially powered its water turbine, this facility developed into an important textile plant in 1910 and eventually into a wool scouring and combing facility in 1995. With a capacity of 23 million kgs per year and a state-of-the-art effluent treatment plant, it’s one of the most modern facilities of its kind. The Scouring and Combing facility is the second step in the creation of our Merino collection, which we've traced from farm to final garment. (View the entire trail here.)
